Sit with Us

I believe when I listen

I get comfort and peace

at heart. My day - those words!

Really touch my heart.

Sit with Us took place at Convention House during Refugee Week (14 - 21 June). It was an interactive art installation where women from different migration backgrounds invited you to sit, make yourself comfortable and listen. Sit with Us featured printed textiles, film, immersive soundscape and invitations to take yourself on guided ‘soundwalks’ around the local area.

Sit with Us was co-created by the Mafwa women’s Friday group, Kuluhenna Drama, who worked with artists to create the fabrics, film and audio experiences. Mafwa’s associate artist group worked with Ora Ataguba to create soundwalks (Walk with Us), which used the Convention House site as their starting point.
