Sheepscar Beck
Artist Commission
We are looking for an artist to develop a new site-responsive public artwork for Sheepscar Beck in Mabgate, Leeds, working in partnership with Leeds City Council’s Flood Alleviation Team.
The selected artist will be developing the artwork through a community co-creation process, delivering a series of workshops with local residents and businesses. These workshops will inform the final design. The finished work will take the form of metal panels integrated into the fencing of this new public space, drawing attention to the Beck and its role in protecting the area from flooding.

Application deadline: 13 April 2026, 9am
Three artists will be shortlisted and invited to develop a proposal, with a £200 fee available for this stage.

The final zine will bring these together in a way that feels accessible and true to the project.
